I’m Tom, the goldsmith behind The Middle Green

I’ve spent over twenty years working with precious metals and gemstones, developing the skills and understanding that now shape every piece I make

I established The Middle Green in 2016 as a way to explore my own ideas, drawing inspiration from nature, folklore and the personal meaning we attach to objects. Today, it is my full-time jewellery business, specialising in bespoke commissions alongside a small collection of handcrafted jewellery

From bespoke engagement rings and wedding bands to remodelling inherited jewellery, I work directly with each customer to create pieces that feel personal, considered and made to last

Every commission begins with a conversation, and I’m involved throughout the process, from the initial design and selection of materials through to making and finishing the jewellery

I believe good jewellery should be made with care, honesty and an understanding of how it will be worn

That means taking the time to get the proportions right, explaining the options clearly and making practical decisions about materials, settings and construction

Some customers arrive with a clear design in mind. Others have little more than an idea, a gemstone or a piece of inherited jewellery they’d like to give new life to

I combine traditional goldsmithing techniques with modern design and manufacturing methods, choosing whichever approach produces the best result for the piece
