The Bespoke Jewellery Design Process
Your bespoke journey starts with a discovery conversation with Tom — either through phone, email, or video call if you’d like to speak through your ideas in person. Whichever you’re most comfortable with.
During this consultation, we’ll explore your ideas and vision for the jewellery piece. Don’t worry if you’re unsure where to start, with years of experience we know the right questions to ask. From exploring the styles that appeal to you, materials & sizes, that have inspired the piece, to what it symbolises to you.
At this stage, any images, mood boards, social media collections, or other items are welcomed to help paint the picture and gather inspiration. Following the consultation, you can look forward to receiving your initial designs.
Second Consultation
We will invite you for the second consultation to view and discuss initial sketches and concepts. This is an exciting moment when we get to present to you your idea taking shape. This discussion allows you to see how we’re interpreting your vision and pin down any details still up for consideration.
During this step, we can finalise the quotation detailing what will be made, a likely completion date and a final cost. If you wish to proceed, 50% of the cost is payable upfront with the remaining 50% due when you are totally happy with the finished item.
Creating Your Jewellery
Once you’ve finalised your design, it’s time to bring your bespoke jewellery design to life. Most bespoke pieces take around 4–6 weeks from start to finish, depending on the complexity of the design. With a combination of experienced bench skills, the latest technology and our thorough attention to detail, we will transform your design and bring it to life before looking to get it Hallmarked and presenting it to you.
All our bespoke jewellery is crafted using sustainable, recycled metals sourced from our reputable and trusted suppliers. What’s more, we only use ethically sourced stones within our pieces and are dedicated to supporting fair practices.
When The Wait Becomes Worth It
Once your custom jewellery is ready, it will be beautifully presented in a jewellery box and delivery will be arranged at a convenient time for you.
Looking After Your Jewellery
We know how special this bespoke jewellery piece will be to you or the recipient. All work is guaranteed for 2 years as long as the jewellery has been appropriately cared for.
You are welcome to bring any item of jewellery made by The Middle Green back once a year for a complimentary clean and polish as well as a general check for any wear and tear.

Using Your Own Gemstones
