I don’t begin with a catalogue of ring designs. I begin by understanding the person who will wear it, the jewellery they already choose and the details that matter to them

A ring for someone who rarely wears jewellery should feel very different to one designed for someone with rings on every finger

I’m Tom McDanielson, the goldsmith behind The Middle Green. When you commission an engagement ring, you’ll work directly with me from the first conversation through to the finished piece

I’ll help you develop the idea, source the gemstones and make the ring in my Wiltshire workshop. No sales team or handovers. Just a straightforward conversation with the person actually making your ring

How much does a bespoke engagement ring cost?

Every ring is made to order, so pricing varies depending on the design, metal and gemstones selected. Most bespoke engagement ring commissions start from around £1,450

How long does the process take?

Most engagement rings take between 4 and 8 weeks from design approval to completion. If you’re working towards a proposal date, it’s always worth getting in touch as early as possible

Can I use family diamonds or inherited jewellery?

Yes. We regularly remodel inherited jewellery and can often incorporate existing diamonds, gemstones or precious metals into a new design

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

Not at all. Many clients come to us with only a rough idea. We’ll guide you through design options, gemstones, metals and practical considerations to help shape the final design

Do you work with clients outside Wiltshire?

Yes. Many engagement ring projects are completed remotely through video calls, email and messaging, with secure delivery available throughout the UK

Once the design is approved, your ring is handcrafted in our Wiltshire studio.

Delivery & Aftercare

When your ring is complete, we arrange delivery or collection.

We also provide ongoing cleaning, checks and aftercare advice to help keep it looking its best.
